24 Main bar and Kitchen in New Albany is a nightmare!!
This is a warning to any would-be customers and prospective employees. Do not associate with 24 Main Bar and Kitchen. I worked for them and helped to open the restuarant with an amazong management team who all cared about the restuarant like they owned it. The staff who was hired was beyond amazing and filled with passionate individuals. During the lead up to opening, many of the investors in the business demanded things that were impossible. They wanted us to cater private parties, even though the construction wasnt done and we had no kitchen. They insisted on hosting events in the restuarant despite not having permits and licenses to occupy the space and even followed through with one. That party was over 100 people in a restaurant without tables, without chairs, and without a working kitchen. The food was prepared at the home of one of the owners and transported to the space. It was shut down after an hour and a half by the police and fire Marshall because we had no permits. Everyone was forced to leave and they laughed about how funny it was, while the staff cleaned up the mess they left and pleaded with the authorities to not close the business before it even opened. They did not revoke our business license. Once the restaurant opened the investors would come in everynight demanding products and items we did not have and verbally abuse the staff until they got their way. On more than one occasion the owners made employees break down in tears in the kitchen because they were so horrible to them. The investors would also consistently talk about how horrible the drinks and food were to their friends and in front of customers, but would then turn around and say everything was great to the staff's face. They belittled customers, bullying them out of seats so their friends could sit, and make reservations for 6 people, but show up with 25 and expect to be treated like royalty. The GM was forced to quit after weeks of verbal abuse and attempts to sabotage her job from these investors. The chef followed suit a short time later after the investors refused to allow him to do the base responsibilities of his job and manage the kitchen. They treated him like he was a vile bully, who would be abusive to his staff and create a hostile environment. He was none of that. After he left, the sous Chef attempted to intimidate the owners into giving him the chef job, but quit after they said no. With no leadership in the kitchen and no leadership upfront, the investors continued to act like everything was normal. Forcing the hourly staff to take on the responsibilities of management while they took their sweet time to find replacements. After weeks of this multiple of the kitchen staff quit, bar tenders quit, and eventually they were forced to cut the menu in half so a kitchen staff of 2 people (normally 6) could run dinner service. After a few more weeks of this they announced they would be cutting everyone's pay and reducing the quality of their products to save on costs. After weeks of attempted discussion and conflict resolution, this announcement resulted in the entire staff walking out, leaving only their new GM (who had been on vacation for 10 out of her first 14 days) and the new chef was called off because of car troubles. Their mental and emotional abuse of their staff, and refusal to accept the word "no" caused their entire staff of 20 people to leave a job they felt passionate about. The mission was amazing, but the owners clearly have no idea how to run a restaurant. Today I was told by one of the last remaining employees from my time, that they are telling everyone who comes in that they fired everyone because of "poor performance". Yet another instance where accountability and responsibility don't exist in their vocabulary. They are entitled, wealthy, childish, people who only care about their own vanity. They want everyone they meet to kiss their ass and serve them, because they view everyone who is working class as a peasant. Just for more context, these investors own 2 Lamborghinis, two teslas, and a newly purchased cyber truck. They are the scourge of society and deserve no respect. DO NOT GO THERE!
New Mexican Restaurant in UA.
Hey everyone! My family has very recently opened up a Mexican restaurant in Upper Arlington called La Loma. It’s on Northwest Blvd just behind the main Kingsdale Shopping Center. Originally opened in Akron, Ohio we have since expanded to Canton and now Columbus. We serve everything from seafood, tacos, tortas, fajitas, and much more. While the other locations are a taqueria/store combo this one is a little more like a sit down restaurant. They do offer takeout. They also have a full bar that make great drinks! If you would like a better view of the menu it can be located on their website. Please come check it out we would appreciate it!! (My personal favorite meat is the pastor because it’s authentically rotated on a vertical spit giving it a great flavor!)

This sweet boy is at risk of euthanasia at the Franklin County Dog Shelter due to kennel anxiety (no aggression just terrified and not wanting to go back in his kennel). He is 2 years old, 78 pounds, dog friendly, trainable, and needs out by Wednesday at 7! Just wanted to share in case someone has room for this sweet boy! The lost and found dog groups of columbus have additional contact info!
Urgent need for stray foster
I’ve already posted on PetFBI and also here but the poor guy seems to be a legit stray. RICO has been involved and even offered to come out but our neighbors have been ghosted by them multiple times. All other rescues are full and FCDS said he would be euthanized if they managed to capture him. He’s been wandering our neighborhood for about a week. Not at all aggressive but very timid. A neighbor finally managed to get him to hang out in their yard and he stayed overnight but is not able to bring him inside. Is anyone willing to temporarily foster, or even better, adopt? We’d really like to see him in someone’s care before fireworks begin. I can’t take him as I’m out of town and my dog is very aggressive as well.
