GUYMON, Okla. (KAMR/KCIT) — Guymon officials report that a fatal collision occurred on Sunday at approximately 10:01 p.m. on County Road D about a fourth mile east of Mile 33, approximately 12 miles north of Guymon, in Texas County.

According to officials, a 1998 Dodge Ram driven by a 16-year-old teenager from Hooker, Okla., was traveling westbound “where the driver came upon a pothole in the road, and it appears he tried to dodge the pothole, and swerved to the right and then overcorrected.”

Officials stated that the Dodge Ram began sliding to the left as it was leaving the roadway, hit a ditch, went airborne, and then rolled approximately two and a half times. The driver was ejected approximately 10 yards from the vehicle.

This crash was investigated by Trooper Montana Moon #212 of the Cimarron/Texas County Detachment of Troop I. and was assisted by Lieutenant Erick Brown #145, Hooker Fire Department, Hooker EMS, Hooker Police Department, and Texas County Sherrif’s Department.
