We love garlic bread and so many times we don't have a loaf of french bread on hand, and that's okay! Use what you have. Sandwich bread, hotdog buns, leftover biscuits, etc. are fantastic made into garlic bread! Now go make some! LOL

Homemade Garlic Bread Recipe (using French Loaf or Any Bread)

    Ingredients:

    • 1 large French loaf, baguette, or any bread you have on hand.
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 4-6 garlic cloves, minced (adjust to your garlic preference)
    • 1-2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional for color and flavor)
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional, or use dried oregano/basil)
    • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a slight kick)

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Garlic Butter Spread:
      • In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, Parmesan (if using), salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
    2. Preheat the Oven:
      • Preheat your oven to broil on high, and move the oven rack to the top position.
    3. Slice the Bread:
      • If using a French loaf or baguette, slice diagonally into 1-inch thick pieces. If you're using other types of bread (like sandwich bread, rolls, or leftover bread), slice them into thick slices or just use whole slices as is.
    4. Spread the Garlic Butter:
      • Generously spread the garlic butter mixture onto one side of each bread slice. (For rolls, you can butter the inside halves.)
    5. Arrange on a Baking Sheet:
      • Place the buttered slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
    6. Broil the Garlic Bread:
      • Broil for 2-4 minutes, watching closely to ensure they don’t burn. Once the edges are golden brown and the butter is bubbling, remove them from the oven.
    7. Serve:
      • Serve your garlic bread hot and crispy, no matter what kind of bread you used!

This versatile recipe ensures delicious garlic bread, whether you're using a fancy French loaf or just simple sandwich bread!
