In just five short years the Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation has raised $100,000.

For two of those years, the “Hundreds for Hack” buy a brick program fundraiser has been raising money for the foundation, with more than $22,000 brought in.

Last week a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to unveil all the decorative bricks that were installed around the flagpole near the Chamber building in City Park.

“On behalf of the Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation, we’d like to thank everyone who bought a brick to help us raise over $22,000 for the endowment fund. The interest earned from this and other projects will be invested back into the Hackensack community and our nine surrounding townships,” said Kris Biessener. “We wouldn’t have done it without all of you, and all the people and businesses that bought bricks and helped us support many of the non-profits.”

Those who were lauded for their efforts were City of Hackensack, Rob Triplett, Denny Ganz, Raph Concrete, Edina Realty, Faith in Action, Trosen Electric, First National Bank and Mike Elsenpeter, Butts and Buns, CWF, Gary Hoopman, Paws and Claws Rescue Resort, Mike’s Sand and Gravel and Mitch Bouchonville.

In the first five years, the foundation has directed $30,000 to several non-profit organizations that do many great things for the small community.
