Hackensack Preschool Program Gets High Marks

HACKENSACK, NJ – The Public Schools Preschool Program has been awarded the designation of "High-Quality" by the New Jersey Department of Education Division of Early Childhood Services, according to school officials.

“Being designated as a high-quality preschool is a shining testament to our unwavering commitment to early childhood education,” said Dr. Lauren Kazmark, Director of Curriculum. “Our passionate administrators, dedicated teachers, diligent paraprofessionals, and supportive staff work tirelessly to ensure our preschool students learn, grow, and thrive.

"We take immense pride in this achievement and remain steadfast in our mission to provide the highest quality education to every preschool child in Hackensack.”

The designation involved a comprehensive and rigorous audit of last year’s program, examining 94 areas that contribute to a "high-quality" early childhood education.

"We successfully met or exceeded 89 of these indicators, showcasing our strengths and the exceptional efforts of our educators," Kazmark said.

There were five indicators noted as "in progress."

"Rest assured, we are proactively addressing these and are in the process of creating a detailed action plan to ensure that every aspect of our program meets the highest standards of quality," Kazmark said.
