Southwick Select Board member floats idea of borrowing $20M for road repair
SOUTHWICK — On Monday, Select Board member Doug Moglin requested that the entire board begin discussions on potentially borrowing $20 million to fund road repair. “The amount of works that needs to be done far exceeds our ability at this time,” Moglin said during the board’s meeting Monday night.

"Jaws" isn't the only reason to avoid swimming on July 4 at beaches and other swimming areas throughout Massachusetts. The state Department of Conservation and Recreation posts twice-daily water quality test results for beaches and ponds under its purview at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the Mass.gov website. As of Wednesday, July 3, 30 such areas were closed to swimming, with most due to high bacteria levels and an occasional cyanobacteria bloom popping up here and there.
