    Crunch Fitness expands to Hagerstown

Crunch Fitness is continuing to expand, opening at 17716 Garland Groh Blvd. in the Centre at Hagerstown on Saturday, July 13, General Manager Jeremy Gray said.

Franchise owners John Lucena and Chad Smith also are planning to open a Crunch Fitness in Frederick, Md., Gray said.

The owners decided to open in Hagerstown's West End because the area didn't really have a gym like Crunch at their price points in the area, Crunch officials said.

Membership options range from $9.99 a month to a deal at $27.99 a month, although that latter price deal will only last for a couple more days, Gray said. Members get one complimentary one-hour personal training session with a professional.

The large gym's group offerings include Zumba, pilates, yoga and a belly-button, butts and thighs class, Gray said. Crunch offers a "Hit Zone" group workout that provides high-intensity, integral training to keep the heart rate up with less rest between various exercises.

Equipment includes treadmills, resistance training, free weights and exercise bikes, as well as massage chairs, wellness dry pods and HydroMassage beds that shoot high-pressure water up in waves from the neck to the feet, Gray said.

An infrared sauna also will be installed, Gray said.

    The gym is open 24/7.

Crunch offers an add-on babysitting service, for ages 1 to 12, to clients while in the gym, Gray said. That service, marketed as Kid's Crunch, is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and also from 8 a.m. to noon Friday through Sunday.
