Pendleton resident crowned 2025 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon
MADRAS – (News release from the Miss Oregon Rodeo Foundation) A 12-year-old Pendleton cowgirl, Fallyn Plume, was crowned 2025 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon on August 17 at the conclusion of a four-day pageant held in conjunction with the Clackamas County Fair & Canby Rodeo. Fallyn, the daughter of Carrie Sampson-Samuels, attends Sunridge Middle School in Pendleton. Her favorite sport is basketball, and she is exceptionally proud of her team for placing 3rd in the 2024 Oregon State Basketball Championship. She also enjoys playing travel softball for Oregon East and pow-wow dancing.

Oregon City man identified as victim of fatal Oregon 18 wreck
A 64-year-old Oregon City man died in a two-vehicle collision that closed all lanes of Oregon 18 east of McMinnville for hours on Friday, authorities said Tuesday. Jeffrey Tapp was the passenger in a pickup that was traveling east when it crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic, McMinnville police said, based on witness statements and evidence at the scene.
