Charles City, Decorah and Waverly-Shell Rock (WSR) are all headed for mediation in separate efforts to join new conferences starting with the 2025-26 school year. KMAQ sold to Iowa-based Coloff Media
For the first time in 66 years, KMAQ will be under different ownership. Jim Coloff of Coloff Media has purchased the Maquoketa-based station from Dennis Voy and announced plans to continue operating the station. Braves runner-up at Zwingle Tournament
On Saturday July 13, the Bellevue Braves faced Epworth in the Zwingle Baseball Tournament and came away with a 3-2 victory. The Braves took the early lead when in the first Andrew Swartz singled, and Ethan Hefel proceeded to drive him in with a triple. In the third Hefel was hit by a pitch, then scored on a Chet Knake double. The next batter up was Cole Swartz who drove in Knake with a single. That was all Braves' right-hander Jordan Nelson would need as he scattered four hits while fanning seven. Mitch Roeder took the loss for Epworth.
