KMAQ sold to Iowa-based Coloff Media
For the first time in 66 years, KMAQ will be under different ownership. Jim Coloff of Coloff Media has purchased the Maquoketa-based station from Dennis Voy and announced plans to continue operating the station. The station will continue to cover area events and retain all current employees through its transition in ownership, which will also bring some new faces to town.
Braves runner-up at Zwingle Tournament
On Saturday July 13, the Bellevue Braves faced Epworth in the Zwingle Baseball Tournament and came away with a 3-2 victory. The Braves took the early lead when in the first Andrew Swartz singled, and Ethan Hefel proceeded to drive him in with a triple. In the third Hefel was hit by a pitch, then scored on a Chet Knake double. The next batter up was Cole Swartz who drove in Knake with a single. That was all Braves' right-hander Jordan Nelson would need as he scattered four hits while fanning seven. Mitch Roeder took the loss for Epworth.
