Man arrested for solicitation of a minor
On April 15, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received notification about an adult male contacting a juvenile female for sexual favors. According to a press release from Major Anzell M. Harris, during the investigation led by Detective C. Watkins, five search warrants were applied for and granted. The suspect, Taylor Scott Harris, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested on July 17, and served with the warrant for felony solicitation of a minor by computer which was obtained on July 15 by Watkins.

A 29-year-old Roanoke Rapids man Wednesday was charged with a count of solicitation of a minor by computer following an investigation that began in April. Major Anzell M. ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WNCN) — A Roanoke Rapids mom took her boyfriend to work Saturday night but left her baby and toddler alone, police said. The incident was discovered around 9:30 p.m. when a 3-year-old child was spotted walking through the parking lot of a housing complex along East Littleton Road, according to a news release from the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
Winston man charged with steroid possession following stop
A Winston-Salem man was charged Tuesday with possession of steroids following an Interstate 95 traffic stop. Major Anzell M. Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Alfred Perry Evans II, 34, was charged when Deputy K. Taylor observed a vehicle pass him while stationary near the southbound 155 mile marker.
