Three Injured in Danville Shooting, Police Investigating
On Friday, at 9:56 pm, officers responded to a 911 call of shots being fired at a residence in the 1500 block of Halifax Rd. Once on scene, officers discovered a 40-year-old Ringgold resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. While on scene, a 19-year-old male and 20-year-old female, both from Danville, arrived at SOVAH Danville emergency room with non-life threatening gunshot wounds that occurred at the same incident.

Danville Parks and Rec. Officially Opens Doyle Thomas Splash Pad
Danville Parks and Recreation held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday for the new splash pad in Doyle J Thomas Park. The ribbon cutting followed a soft opening on Monday. The new splash pad will be open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday-Thursday and 10 am to 8 pm Friday-Sunday. This is the second splash pad that the City of Danville has opened this summer after opening the one at Third Avenue earlier in the summer.
