U.S. Judge Rules Lakeland City Illegally Fined Woman Over Profane Political Yard Sign. In a significant ruling this week, a Federal judge in Tennessee declared it unconstitutional for a city to impose a fine on a woman who exhibited a political sign in her yard that employed coarse language to express her disdain for both President Biden and ex-President Donald J. Trump. The citizen in question, Julie Pereira, a 40-year-old resident of Lakeland, Tenn. was penalized with hundreds of dollars by the city of Lakeland for displaying a sign that stated “Fuck Em’ Both 2024”.

Approximately 4,000-day campers this summer are receiving healthy breakfast and snacks thanks to a generous grant awarded by BJ’s Charitable Foundation. The Foundation gifted the Y’s Camp Widjiwagan $26,000 to fully underwrite adding a light breakfast for bus-riding day campers and to supplement the afternoon snack for all day campers. These snacks ensure children are well-fed and energized when they arrive at camp and refueled before they head home each day.

AAA: TN gas prices rise 6 cents
Gas prices across the state rose six cents, on average, ahead of Independence Day last week, before holding steady over the weekend.
