A man accused o f murdering a Hallsville man in Morgan County in June appeared in court on Tuesday morning for an arraignment.

Armstrong is accused of killing Beauford Wilson, 71, of Hallsville, in June. According to previous reporting, Wilson was found dead on June 30 against a tree near Beechnut Road, south of Stover. At Tuesday morning's arraignment, Armstrong pleaded not guilty. During the hearing, he argued for why he should receive bond, but was denied after the court heard statements given by Wilson's daughter and son.
