The Nebraska Rural Electric Association has announced the addition of Southern Public Power District in Grand Island as its newest member. Southern Public Power District serves approximately 27,717 retail electric customers in Hall, Merrick, Hamilton, Phelps, Kearney, Adams and Franklin counties in Nebraska. Southern Public Power District operates about 7,098 miles of electric lines and has 95 employees. General Manager Chad Waldow said Southern Public Power District looks forward to working with the Nebraska statewide organization and its members.
