A man has died after he suffered burns at his Hamilton, Ohio residence on Wednesday, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

The coroners office said 51-year-old Charles Needham died on Thursday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The fire happened at Needham's home on Poplar Street in Hamilton, Ohio on Wednesday. Hamilton fire officials said fire crews were called to his home, where they found Needham suffering from burns "that apparently had occurred when he was near a fire in the back yard."

He was taken to the hospital to be treated for burns, the coroner's office reports.

A previous version of this story incorrectly said Needham's injuries were from a house fire.
