    OBITUARY: Marilyn Deloris Sparks

    Marilyn Deloris Sparks, 72, of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.

    She was born March 21, 1952, daughter of the late Ernest Sparks and Annie Pearl Mauldin Sparks.

    Marilyn worked previously with Sara Lee Hosiery and then in her later years, worked in house cleaning. She loved to clean and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family, always cooking and insisting on cleaning afterwards. Marilyn also enjoyed being outdoors and loved the beach. She was a kind lady who will be missed by her family.

    Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Wyatt Parker; brother, Elmore Sparks; sister, Elaine Chappell; nephew, Derrick Sparks; and uncle, Everette Mauldin (Martha).

    Marilyn is survived by her sons, Daryle Dunn (Crystal Yancey) of Fayetteville and Ethan Dunn (Catie Creel) of Florence, South Carolina; stepfather to her children, Kenneth Steen; grandchildren, Chandra Winfield, Dekota Dunn, Aspen Dunn, Aiden Dunn, and Harper Creel; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Jaydan, Heaven and Kaiyzen; brother, Ricky Sparks (Liz) of Hamlet; and niece and nephews, Michelle Ellerbe, Rick Sparks and Scottie Sparks.

    Services will be planned for a later date by the family.

    Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Sparks family.
