    Couple arrested following Hammond drug bust

    HAMMOND, La. ( WGNO ) — A Hammond couple has been arrested following a drug investigation in Tangipahoa Parish on Wednesday, July 17.

    According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, the couple, 44-year-old Angelone Ray and 29-year-old Lyquita Bagent, was arrested after tips from the public led TPSO narcotics detectives to search a home on Hammons Lane.

    During the search, TPSO detectives said they found over two pounds of synthetic marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, a rifle, two handguns, one of which was reportedly stolen, and almost $29,000 in cash.

    Ray and Bagent have been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the following charges:

    • Possession with intent to distribute schedule I and schedule II CDS (second or subsequent offense)
    • Convicted felon in possession of a firearm
    • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS
    • Possession of CDS while in the presence of minors
    • Possession of a stolen firearm
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia
