WILLIAMSBURG, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Residents in the Hampshire County community of Williamsburg expressed concern, following the approval of a new shared bike path. “Not only is it a plan that doesn’t make sense to us on a lot of levels, again safety, but we weren’t including in the process of creating the plan in the first place,” said Gerry Shattuck of Haydenville.

We at Hampshire Support Alliance (formerly Friends of Hampshire County Homeless Individuals) were happy to see the Gazette's extensive reporting on the work being done by Independent Housing Solutions, housing people who don’t always fit into traditional housing options. It’s an important program, and that’s why we have provided extensive support to Dr. Bossie’s creation of this unique housing. Hampshire Support Alliance has granted $150,000 in financial support; helped IHS obtain two other grants; provided the furnishings and appliances; and bought kitchen food and staples and cleaning supplies on an ongoing basis, with the help of volunteers. Our overall financial support is well over $200,000 and continuing.
