CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield credits a critical partnership with achieving top-tier results for Type 2 diabetes care. CareFirst partnered with Ryse Health, a chain of clinics in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas, focused exclusively on managing diabetes. CareFirst members who received care at Ryse Health clinics had, on average, scores in the 95th percentile for several HEDIS measures.
One person fatally shot in Barclay, according to police
A man was fatally shot in Barclay on Thursday night, according to Baltimore Police. Officers were sent to the 1900 block of Greenmount Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting around 9 p.m. Once there, they found an unresponsive 42-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

In an early morning incident at Glen Burnie, police responding to a 911 call arrested a 16-year-old male suspected of attempting to break into an Exxon gas station. The Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that the call came in at approximately 12:40 a.m. for an attempted burglary at 720 Aquahart Road. An officer, already monitoring the Computer Aided Dispatch system, arrived on the scene to find one of the suspects at the shattered entrance before any formal dispatch was issued.
