MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Police say two men were fatally shot, one man was stabbed to death, and seven more men were injured by gunfire in a four-day stretch in Minneapolis. Police Chief Brian O’Hara says he asked for and received both investigative and patrol assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) to help with the 10 violent incidents that have occurred since Thursday and to increase police presence in some of the current trouble spots in the city.

Jose Miranda needed to exist Sunday's game in Detroit after the Minnesota Twins third baseman was struck in the side of the head by a pitch. It happened in the top of the first inning, when an Alex Faedo fastball came high and inside, hitting Miranda in the side of his helmet and sending him to the dirt. Miranda stayed down for a considerable amount of time, with the Twins training staff attending to him, but he was eventually able to get up and walk back to the clubhouse under his own power.
