BVPD continues Friday shooting investigation
Bristol, Virginia police are continuing to look for any information on a vehicle believed to have been involved in a shooting Friday morning, leaving one man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. It happened on Moore Street at the campus of the former Virginia Intermont College. There may have been three male suspects involved. The vehicle was possibly a light blue older model Ford Thunderbird. Anyone with information regarding the suspects or vehicle is asked to call the BVPD at 276-645-7400.

Boone little league ends its season
The Daniel Boone Little League Softball 10-12-year-old team finished third in the state tournament on Monday, July 8 in Erwin, but the ending was hard to stomach. The Blazers, which lost 6-1 to Smith County in the losers’ bracket final, needed to rest ace Jayden Jenkins in that one. It became an even bigger deal when reliable No. 2 pitcher Averie Montgomery suddenly fell ill some 30 minutes before the game.
