    Hampton seeking assistance identifying suspect in shooting

    HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police is seeking assistance in identifying any suspects in connection to a maiming on Wednesday, police said.

    Around 6:10 p.m., Hampton Police responded to a call for a shooting in the 1300 block of Bethel Avenue.

    Officers found the victim walking in the 100 block of Rip Rap Road. The man was suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

    The victim was transported to a local hospital by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was walking in the area believed to be Easterly Avenue and Langley Avenue when he was shot by an unknown suspect(s).

    The victim then ran down the 1300 block of Bethel Avenue, seeking help.
