    Several roads in Hampton to temporarily close as part of mining machine transport

    HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A police escort for a mining machine will temporarily close multiple roads in Hampton on Monday.

    According to officials, around 11 a.m. on July 29, a mining machine will be transported through the City of Hampton, requiring some roads along the route to temporarily close.

    The mining machine will travel north along Aberdeen Road after taking exit 3 on I-664 towards West Mercury Boulevard. The machine will then turn left on West Mercury Boulevard and travel eastbound, then turning left on Woodland Road. From here, the transport will travel southbound to exit off of exit 268 to travel east on I-64.

    The transport is expected to end on the North Island at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.

    Motorists traveling in these areas during the transport should expect delays.
