Police: Searching for suspect in shooting, near Sal’s NY Pizza in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred on Friday.

The call came in around 6 p.m., in reference to a shooting in the 2200 block of Executive Drive. Officers responded to the area and located the scene but no victim. They were notified of a walk-in gunshot victim at Riverside Regional Hospital.

Officers responded to Riverside and made contact with the victim, a 22-year-old Hampton man, suffering from a non life-threatening injury.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim entered Sal’s NY Pizza where he engaged in a verbal argument with the suspect. After words were exchanged, the suspect shot toward the victim, striking the victim, police said.
