    Drug charges filed against two Hamptonville men

    Last month the YCSO ACE Team concluded a narcotics investigation on Larry Grayson Wells, age 39 of Hamptonville. On Feb. 23, an arrest warrant was issued for for Wells, stemming from a controlled purchase of heroin/fentanyl that occurred recently at his residence of 2214 Cal Long Rd. in Hamptonville. Detectives observed Wells operating a motor vehicle later that day and conducted a traffic stop in the Hamptonville area to serve the arrest warrant

    During the course of the traffic stop, Well’s passenger, Timothy Mack Wagner, age 54 of Hamptonville, resisted detectives and was placed under arrest. Wagner’s person was searched pursuant to the arrest and the detectives located methamphetamine in his pocket. A probable cause search was also conducted of the vehicle where detectives located a digital scale and marijuana. Wells is currently on probation for drug related crimes that occurred in July of 2023. Detectives contacted Wells’ probation officer and advised them of the incident. Probation officers met the detectives at Wells’ residence and conducted a probation search. During the search probation officers and detectives located various amounts of paraphernalia along with fentanyl and methamphetamine.

    Wells was arrested and charged with the following:

    • One felony count of Sell/Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Heroin)

    • One felony count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver (Heroin)

    • Two felony counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of Controlled Substances

    • One felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

    • One felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    • One misdemeanor count of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance (Marijuana)

    • One misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    Wells received a $75,000.00 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court in Yadkin County on Feb. 28.

    Wagner was arrested and charged with the following:

    • One felony count of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

    • One misdemeanor count of Resisting a Public Officer

    • One misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    Wagner received a $10,000 secured bond and was also scheduled to appear in court in Yadkin County on Feb. 28.

    Drug, child abuse charges filed

    Also arrested last month on unrelated drug charges was 28-year-old Meghan Danielle Macemore. On Feb. 2, detectives with the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a Yadkin County investigation by making an undercover purchase of 3.5 grams of methamphetamine from Macemore at her residence on Center Road in Boonville. Macemore was discovered to be on supervised probation and post-release in Yadkin County at that time. Yadkin County detectives, along with probation and parole officers, conducted a search of Macemore’s residence on Feb. 19. During the search the detectives located 12 grams of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered during the investigation that Macemore’s infant child was present inside the residence during these matters.

    Macemore was arrested and charged with the following:

    • 1 felony count of Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Meth.)

    • 2 felony counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Meth.)

    • 2 felony counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of Controlled Substances

    • 2 misdemeanor counts of Child Neglect/Abuse

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    Macemore received a $50,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court in Yadkin County on Feb. 21. Additional charges are expected by probation and parole officers for violations related to these incidents.
