INDIANAPOLIS — Thunderstorms rolled through central Indiana late Saturday afternoon. Beginning around 3:30 p.m., thunderstorm warnings were issued throughout the area. Some of the counties affected were Boone, Hendricks, Marion, Montgomery, Putnam, Hancock, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Henry and Bartholomew. Most of the warnings were called off by 5:30 p.m.

Building permits for new homes higher this spring
GREENFIELD – Hancock County almost double the amount of building permits for new homes in May 2024 than it did in May 2023. According to a press release from the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, there were 89 building permits in Hancock County in May 2024 compared to 47 in May 2023.
