Police: Cat in Chester animal cruelty case died by gunshot
CHESTER — The feline victim of an animal cruelty case in Hancock County is believed to have been shot, according to Chester Police Chief Chuck Stanley. Stanley said that upon examination at a veterinary clinic, the cat’s body showed both entry and exit wounds, but no bullet upon x-raying the body.

Driver hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after Hancock County crash
HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — A driver was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle crash on I-75 in Hancock County. The 37-year-old driver was traveling southbound on the interstate at about 5:45 p.m. and "failed to negotiate a curve," according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, hitting a ditch, two trees and a fence before overturning and coming to a rest on County Road 313.
