Newview CEOS volunteers award scholarship
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Newview CEOS volunteers met July 3 at the Hancock County Senior Services Center. A light lunch, provided by the center, was followed by their regular business meeting. The secretary’s report was dispensed with as the secretary was ill and unable to attend. Nominations were held for officers for 2025 but, with only one person nominated for each position, the formal election next month is a forgone conclusion. President for 2025 will be Virginia Lawrence, Vice President Sue Isner, Secretary Vicky Cunningham and Treasurer Becky Wiegers. New electees will take office Jan. 1, 2025.

On June 14 (Flag Day) and 15, 2024 the Hancock County Democratic Executive Committee, the Hancock County Democratic Women, along with Olivia Dowler, candidate for West Virginia House of Delegates District 2, attended the West Virginia State Convention in Charleston. During the Convention, our delegation participated in the patriotic duty of selecting delegates to the National Convention that will take place in Chicago, this August. Thank you to all of those who took time to travel at their own expense, to Charleston and participate in the selection process.
