HANFORD, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Three teenagers from Lemoore were arrested after police say they broke into the abandoned Sears building in Hanford.

On Monday, July 1, officers say they were dispatched at around 5 a.m. to the vacant Sears building in Hanford. Officers arrived to find three people wearing all dark clothes and face masks running from the east entry door. Police say officers gave chase and cornered the subjects in the loading dock.

According to officers, all three were non-compliant at first; two of them were arrested at the scene and a third took off running again. He was found near Firestone Tires on 12th Avenue and arrested.

All three subjects were identified as 14-year-old boys from Lemoore by police.

Video from the inside of the mall showed that the teenagers entered through the main area of the Hanford Mall and jumped a counter at a kiosk – but were scared away by the alarm.

Hanford Police say the three teenagers were booked into the Kings County Juvenile Center for burglary and resisting arrest.
