The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor Announce Big Change to the Annual Fish-O-Rama Fundraiser
Founded in 1993 as the Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids, the organization is now known as the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor. They provide year-round youth development programs to school-aged children in Marion, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City. Their mission is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those in greatest need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Four escape vehicle fire that closed roadway in Coralville
CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - Four people were able to safely get out of a vehicle that caught fire, temporarily closing a roadway in Coralville on Thursday morning. Fire crews responded to the fire involving a recreational vehicle and the pickup truck that was towing it at 1st Avenue and 9th Street at around 9 a.m.

Teacher Killed in Lawnmower Accident
A Don Bosco teacher has died in a tragic lawnmower incident near Jesup. Jake Knepper was attempting to load a commercial grade lawnmower onto a trailer shortly before 1:00 p.m. Thursday when it tipped off the side of the trailer, rolled down and pinned Knepper underneath. Firefighters removed the mower and attempted life saving measures but Knepper was pronounced dead at the scene. A student vigil will be held inside the Don Bosco gymnasium after morning Mass Friday morning and a staff support circle and prayer vigil will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. A community prayer vigil will be held at a later date. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
