An Adams County man was arrested for attempted murder in Maryland after allegedly shooting at another driver during a road rage incident, according to Maryland State Police.

Bryant Paradine, 37, of Littlestown, faces felony charges of attempted 2nd degree murder and assault in the first degree, along with misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and several gun charges.

Paradine was arrested and held without bail in Frederick County and has an initial hearing scheduled in Frederick District Court for Sept. 12, 2024.

The charges stem from a road rage incident that police allege took place on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024.

According to a release by Maryland State Police, around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 14, troopers responded to the area of U.S. Route 15 southbound at Tippin Drive in Thurmont, Maryland, for a reported road rage incident involving shots fired.

When officers arrived, troopers were able to see bullet holes in the passenger compartment of a vehicle, the release said.

No one was injured in the vehicle, police said.

The driver of the vehicle had called 911 when the incident occurred, and related to the 911 call taker that they were fired upon by a maroon Chevrolet SUV with a Pennsylvania license plate, the release said.

Shortly after the call, 911 provided a lookout to responding officers.

The Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and processed the victim's vehicle, finding a projectile inside.

While investigating the incident, troopers were able to identify an unoccupied suspect vehicle parked at a business in the Thurmont area, the release said. They then located the driver of that vehicle, Paradine, inside the business.

A search warrant was executed on Paradine's vehicle, which discovered a loaded 9mm firearm, and one spent 9mm shell casing inside the car, according to police.

Paradine was arrested on the scene and transported to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack for processing, the release said.
