Hanover Historical Society Ice Cream Social: Summertime fun

Summer is time for picnics, road trips, outdoor activities and swimming, and of course, festivals. It’s also a time for pie and ice cream, socializing, and just plain kicking back and relaxing at the Hanover Historical Society Ice Cream Social event.

Join the Historical Society for the sixth annual event on Wednesday, July 17, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hanover Area History Center, 1010 River Road (the former Methodist Church).

Food lines will begin at 5 p.m. sharp. There will be two bounce houses, K-9 demonstrations, and Magic by Bob Miller, with his walk-around magic show. Magic by Bob Miller is sponsored by Influence Church and one of the bounce houses is sponsored by Hanover Dental.

For a freewill offering, enjoy sloppy Joe’s, hotdogs, baked beans and all the fixings topped off with assorted pies, cake and ice cream. The hamburger meat will be provided by Bechtold Farms.

If weather is inclement, people will eat indoors, this is a rain or shine event. Afterwards, wander downstairs and check out displays, exhibits and learn more about the Hanover Historical Society.
