📰Tributes flood in after local sprint car driver, 19, killed in weekend motorcycle crash

Tributes have flooded in for a local sprint car driver who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Penn Township over the weekend.

Riley Emig, 19, of Paradise Township, was killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred on Broadway near Beaver Creek Road around 4:47 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Penn Township.

Emig was an avid sprint car driver who frequented speedways around the state, including Lincoln speedway in Abbottstown.

📰Investigation continues after massive York City blaze: It will likely take a significant period of time to figure out the cause of Friday's massive warehouse fire in York. Here's the latest. Also, see more on the fire here and the crash of two fire trucks over the weekend here.

A look back: Bowling center breaks ground

If you've ever lived in Hanover, it's likely when someone asks if you want to go bowling that the Hanover Bowling Centre is one of the first places that comes to mind.

Even for myself, it was almost an annual ritual as a Hanover High School student to go night bowling at the Hanover Bowling Centre after a Homecoming dance or other event.

With that in mind, coming across this photo from 1974, when ground was first broken on the bowling alley, was a bit amusing! To this day, 50 years later, it still remains a popular spot in town.
