After four years of bringing the LGBTQ+ community and their allies together in the Hanover area, Pride Hanover announced that the organization has been dissolved permanently.

"I wish the organization could continue, but unfortunately, my personal circumstances no longer allow me to devote the time and energy required," said founder Naomi Asper in a post on the group's social media accounts.

"We have had an incredible run, and I have no doubt that our friends at YWCA Hanover and Gettysburg Pride will continue to provide the support and representation that this community deserves," added Asper.

The organization, a 501c3 non-profit, supported diversity, equality and inclusion in Hanover, and was founded by Asper in 2020.

The group held its first-ever Pride Fest at Moul Field in 2021, and most recently held the fourth Pride Fest on June 29, 2024.

The posts states that the organization has been suspended permanently due to the departure of most of the board, which led the group to re-evaluate the direction of the initiative.

"This decision was not made lightly. So, thank you, Hanover, for embracing us. You are truly one of a kind," the post concluded.
