Thousands around the Hanover area and York County were without power after a severe storm uprooted trees, brought down power lines and even threw a trampoline into wires.

As of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Met-Ed reported a total of roughly 15,000 people around York County were without power, according to the outage tracker on the company's website.

About 3,000 of those without power were in Manchester Township, where main transmission lines were brought down along Church Road.

In the Hanover area, around 3,500 customers were without power in Hanover Borough, 1,400 in Conewago Township, and 800 in McSherrystown.

As the sun began to set Tuesday, Met-Ed crews were working atop two bucket trucks to remove a trampoline from powerlines on the 1200 block of West Elm Avenue in Conewago Township, just outside of McSherrystown.

The trampoline ordeal brought a great amount of spectators to parking lots and along the roadway, some even pulling out lawn chairs to sit and watch as crews worked to tie ropes to the trampoline and lift it off of the wires.

It wasn't just trampolines being brought down, however, as numerous trees were uprooted in the area.

Not far from Hanover's center square, a large tree had fallen on the Arcadian Social Club on Carlisle Street, resting against the roof of the building.

According to the National Weather Service severe thunderstorm warning for the storm, the storm was forecasted to have winds up to 60 miles-per-hour and the possibility for quarter-size hail.

The warning for the storm was issued around 6:57 p.m. and expired at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This is a breaking story, check back for updates.
