CANNON BEACH, Ore. — A 160-lb Great Pyrenees dog hiking Saddle Mountain got some first-class first aid after the pup's paws were cut up by wire fencing. The Cannon Beach Rural Fire Protection District explains that on July 12 the "beautiful Pyrenees was hiking Saddle Mountain when he suddenly refused to keep walking. The poor baby's paws were raw/cut and needed assistance down."

An updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:25 a.m. in effect until 8 p.m. for Eastern Curry County and Josephine County and Jackson County. The weather service states, "High temperatures around 101 degrees to 105 with low temperatures between 67 and 70 degrees."
