Owls Head library holds online art auction, invites entries to Ekphrastic Poetry Contest
OWLS HEAD — The Owls Head Village Library is offering a unique opportunity to view and bid on local artwork. The library, run entirely by volunteers, is hosting an online art auction. Union Elementary School gets new roof to stop leaks
Union Elementary School is getting a new roof. On July 17, a dozen construction workers worked on the roof while another worker operated a lift, which delivered brand new material from the ground. Construction on the new roof began July 11 with the removal of the old roof, said Facilities Director Brian Race.
House Fire in Presque Isle
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to a house fire on 42 Dupont Drive at approximately 2 am this morning. Four occupants were residing in the home and were there during the time of the fire. According to Captain Winston Reed at the Presque Isle Fire Department, the family was alerted to the fire when their fire alarms went off. One occupant had minor injuries and was treated at AR Gould. There were no serious injuries or fatalities.
