BEAUMONT, Texas — Hours after Hurricane Beryl made landfall as a category 1 storm in Matagorda 29,000 Entergy customers are without power in Southeast Texas. In Houston more than two million are without power as the storm continues to move inland. Beryl became a tropical storm at 10 a.m.

Flash flood warning issued for Orange, Jefferson Counties
The National Weather Service Lake Charles has issued a flash flood warning for Jefferson County, Orange County, Hardin County and portions of Jasper County until 2 p.m. Monday. At 10:04 a.m., Doppler radar indicted thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area between 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned areas. TS Beryl: 7pm Update
The 7pm predictions from the National Weather Service has once again moved TS Beryl’s landfall slightly north of the last predicted location in Port Lavaca. NWS says a Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for Jefferson, Hardin and Tyler counties until 3 AM Tuesday. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm force winds (40 MPH or greater) are expected in the warned area. Bring in any light or loose objects that could be blown around in these winds. These winds could lead to a few power outages in these areas where winds knock tree branches on to powerlines.
