Dillon steer wrestler Ryder Gaasch has top Montana performance yet at high school rodeo finals
ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Dillon steer wrestler Ryder Gaasch finished third Monday night in his first go-round at the National High School Finals Rodeo at the Sweetwater Events Complex. Gaasch, the Montana finals state champion, had a time of 7.38 seconds. He trailed only Kace Hollenbach of Middleburg, Pennsylvania (4.77) and Tyler Porter of Tylertown, Mississippi (5.57). It's the top performance yet by a Montanan after three sessions. Gaasch was one of 10 Montanans competing in the evening session Monday. Junior Ranger education day at Pictograph Cave State Park, July 19. Pictograph Cave State Park is hosting a Junior Ranger program on Friday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration is required for the event and space is limited. This free, hands-on program will feature activities and lessons on local animal identification and habitats, geology and pictographs. The program is open to all ages but is best suited for youth 6-12 years old.

The Chippewa Cree woman was visiting the Flathead Indian Reservation from the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. In addition to those two reservations, Bear has ties to Billings.
