5 persons of interest wanted in shooting death of man after argument escalates in NE Houston: HPD
A 25-year-old man is dead, and the Houston Police Department said it's searching for five persons of interest for questions in his shooting death.According to HPD, the shooting happened at about 1 a.m. on June 9 in the 9700 block of Homestead Road.Police said the victim, identified as 25-year-old Alberto Posada, had been chased by another vehicle, and shots were fired at Posada as he arrived at the Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.From there, police said the suspects fled the scene in a white-colored 2011-2012 Mazda CX-9 SUV.HPD said Posada suffered at least one gunshot wound and was then taken to another area hospital, where he was pronounced dead days later on June 11.An investigation into the case determined the incident began as a verbal argument at a gas station at 9700 Homestead and escalated into what police are calling a road rage incident. Hit-and-run suspects wanted after deadly 3-vehicle crash on US-290, constable deputies say
Authorities are searching for three suspects connected to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Jersey Village on Tuesday.The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office posted about the crash on social media, saying it happened on the US-290 Northwest Freeway.Constable Mark Herman said the large truck failed to stop and ran into the back of another vehicle, killing the driver.Three Hispanic men got out of the truck to look at the damage before driving away, going east near the Sam Houston Toll Road, according to Hermann.Authorities did not provide further details about the suspects' descriptions but said they were last seen in a large 20-24-foot box truck or cargo van."If anyone has information on the wanted suspect vehicle, driver, or any dash camera video that might show the collision, please contact our office or your local law enforcement," Herman said.

5.0-magnitude earthquake hits Texas Friday morning
SCURRY COUNTY, Texas — Another earthquake hit West Texas Friday morning, causing tremors felt across the area. The United State Geological Survey initially reported the earthquake at 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale at 9:28 a.m. Friday about 9.2 miles northeast of Hermleigh. Later, the agency said the mainshock of the event was registered at 5.0 on the Richter scale. It was then upgraded to a 5.1 magnitude by the USGS.
