Low-cost rabies vaccination clinic to be held Sept. 12
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will host a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Castlewood Park, 201 Castlewood Drive. Vaccinations will cost just $5. All cats and ferrets must be in a carrier, and all dogs must be on leashes, and all animals must be licensed.

Below average temps again today
Central Kentucky woke up to temps in the upper 40s and low 50s, which is well below the average of 65 degrees. Jackson, KY, got down to 53 this morning, beating the record set in 2001 of 55 degrees. With afternoon highs only expected in the mid to upper 70s, we will keep temperatures below average this afternoon. Overnight, temps will fall back into the upper 40s and low 50s, making Thursday morning another cool one.

23HOPKINS COUNTY 0819 Hopkins County officials are investigating the death of a three-year-old in a swimming pool. On Sunday afternoon, the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department, Med Center Ambulance Services, and the Sheriff’s Office responded to the 700 block of Rabbit Ridge Road in Nebo. Officials heard that the child was located in the pool. He was unresponsive and could not be revived. More details will be forthcoming.
Princeton Police investigating after woman enters school bus
Princeton Police have charged a woman after she allegedly forced her way onto a school bus Tuesday morning while under the influence. According to a news release, officers responded to the 600 block of Fairview Church Road in Princeton around 6:40 a.m. for reports that an intoxicated woman had entered a school bus. Contact was made with the bus driver, who informed the officers that the woman had originally attempted to get on the bus through the loading door and was unsuccessful.
If You Have an Extremely High Utility Bill This Summer, There’s Some Relief in Kentucky
Though our weather in western Kentucky is exceptionally pleasant this week, that really hasn't been the case throughout much of the summer. It's been hot and humid and air conditioning systems around the Tristate have been working overtime to keep up. That means lots of local residents are seeing huge increases in their utility bills. For example, my OMU bill for the last month was nearly $500. That's a big chunk of change.
