A disturbing trend is continuing in the Hudson Valley after yet another child was found locked inside a hot car during this heat wave. On Tuesday around 2:15 p.m., the Clarkstown Police Department received a call stating that a young child had been locked in a vehicle at Costco in Nanuet.

MILLBURN, NJ -- The Millburn Free Public Library began its annual Summer Reading Contest on June 17, but there’s still time to join because it runs until August 9. Mary Moore, Marketing Outreach & Communications Librarian shared, “There's still plenty of time to join the ‘Adventure Begins at Your Library’ Summer Reading Challenge for all ages.” She stressed that summer reading is not just for kids.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Moore explained that adults and teens can earn raffle tickets for logging the books they read until August 9. ‘A kind soul’: Northeastern student killed in fatal two-vehicle crash in May
Northeastern student Jacob Davis was killed after his vehicle was struck by a car traveling 90 miles per hour May 31 in Roxbury, New Jersey, according to officials. He was 18. Davis was a behavioral neuroscience major on the pre-med track. He had just completed his first year at Northeastern and was slated to graduate in 2027, according to his LinkedIn.
