Milkshake is looking for his forever home!
Our little Milkshake isn’t so little anymore. We can’t imagine a better #FeelGoodFriday post than this. A few weeks ago, our rescue partners found Milkshake abandoned at a dump site in rural Mississippi. He was emaciated, severely dehydrated, loaded with worms and ticks, and covered in crusty, infected skin. Despite the crippling heat and look of utter defeat on his face, Milkshake wandered right up to his rescuers, tail wagging, sensing that help had finally arrived.
Straighten or Curve for Colony Pool?
This coming Tuesday, July 23rd, the Township Committee will vote to approve bidding on a pool wall construction plan at Colony Pool. The proposed plan converts the curved, pond-like setting of the Colony Pool into a more traditional, commercial-style pool with straight walls. The pool retains its sandy bottom and beach. The new plan shows a 6-foot concrete deck around the pool.
Summit NJ Micro-paving Project Begins in Early August
SUMMIT, NJ -- The City advises that micro-paving on several Summit streets is scheduled to begin in early August, weather permitting. Residents on affected streets will receive written notification prior to the start of work. Specific project dates will be shared on the city website and social media once finalized. The affected streets include: Arden Place, Bellevue Avenue, Essex Road, Prospect Hill Avenue, Ridge Road, and Woodfern Road.
Newton Girl Scout Working Towards Her Gold Award Through Love of Reading
NEWTON, NJ—Newton resident and recent graduate of Newton High School is working towards her Girl Scout Gold Award, the top rank in Girl Scouts, with a special project. Danielle Penny is a member of Girl Scout Troop 5688 and is collecting previously “loved Children’s books. The book drive is just Phase 1 of the Girl Scout Gold Award project and according to Penny is “a crucial component, as it lays the foundation for the remainder of the project, which will be focused on distributing the books.”
