WHAT TO WATCH FOR: National Tour Back in Montana for Harvey Ostermiller Memorial at Big Sky
For the first time in three years, the American Sprint Car Series National Tour is back in Montana this weekend. Big Sky Speedway, near Billings, will play host to the Harvey Ostermiller Memorial on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24, featuring a $12,012-to-win/$612-to-start finale on Saturday. It’s the biggest paying Sprint Car event in the track’s history and second-largest Feature purse of the National Tour season behind the 360 Knoxville Nationals.
Woman Pulls a Knife on Two Teenagers in Downtown Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 17, 2024, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a report of a female pulling a knife on two individuals in the downtown area. The 911 caller, 13-year-old John Doe, said the female had pulled a knife, pointed it at him, and was swearing. Doe said the female had left the area where the incident occurred and was now near the Iron Horse.

John Keven Moore had taken more than $2 million dollars from investors in his fake companies. Big Sky Mineral Resources LLC was a facade about dealing in oil and gas leases, and Glacier Gala sold a story of buying and selling art. Both were Ponzi schemes; Moore had used the funds to pay off prior investors and to cover his personal spending and very expensive properties.
Rasmussen To Be Inducted Into NRHF
Rodeo clown Flint Rasmussen is being inducted into the National Rodeo Hall of Fame, the organization announced on Tuesday. Rasmussen has a connection to the city of Havre, having started out as a history teacher for Havre High, coming up north from Choteau in the early 1990s. He was also the public address announcer for MSU-Northern Lights and Skylights games.
