Hoff Purchases Riley Funeral Homes
Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service recently acquired the former Riley Funeral Homes in both Lanesboro and Chatfield, bringing their number of locations to eight. The Lanesboro and Chatfield locations will now have the same services available as all of the other Hoff locations. Changes will include the use of more technology, more personalization and updates to the facilities to include an area for the serving of lunches after a funeral.
Another No-Show For Sentencing Results in Arrest Warrant
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An arrest warrant was issued today for a man who failed to show up in Olmsted County Court for his sentencing hearing. Court records show 42-year-old Jesus Rodriguez was scheduled for sentencing on Monday in the case where he was accused of pointing a gun at another man and threatening to kill him at a local convenience store last summer. He was arrested last July after a man told Rochester police that he was refueling his vehicle when he was approached by a man he did not know who was yelling in both Spanish and English before the man went back to his vehicle and returned with a handgun.
Spring Grove’s Reinhardt is State Trap Champion
Spring Grove senior Taylor Reinhardt is the 2024 Girls State Trap champion after hitting 99 of 100 flying clay targets at the state champion-ships in Prior Lake, conducted by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). The three-time All-State Lion shooter, competing in the rain, edged out three girls who scored 98. Last year, in the first year for a separate division for girls, Reinhardt had tied with the second-best score of 98, but after the tie-breaker, brought home the fourth-place medal. This year, she qualified again by being one of the top 25 girls in the state, based on their five-week, regular-season average.
Weekend crash in northeast Iowa claims the life of an Illinois man
WINNESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa – A weekend crash in northeast Iowa killed an Illinois Man. It happened around 1 pm Saturday on Highway 9 near 260th Avenue in Winneshiek County. The Sheriff’s Office says a caller reported seeing a vehicle go off the road and disappear into the ditch. A deputy was sent to the location and found an SUV on its roof in the ditch and a man lying on the ground who had been thrown from the vehicle.
