Duke Energy, county officials to test sirens around Harris Nuclear Plant this week
Duke Energy and county officials will be testing the sirens at a New Hill nuclear plant this week. The 85 outdoor warning sirens around Harris Nuclear Plant will be tested for five to 30 seconds between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 10. To ensure they are functioning properly, it may be necessary to test some sirens more than once.
Cameron man arrested after illegal narcotics found
Cocaine, marijuana, firearms and cash were reportedly confiscated after a search of a home in Cameron on Tuesday, July 2. An investigation into 36-year-old Omari Ade Grant led drug investigators from the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office to the suspect’s residence at 4442 Hillmon Grove Road. There, officers allegedly found about 2,251.3 grams of cocaine with a tax value of approximately $450,260, and about 3,703.7 grams of marijuana with a tax value of approximately $19,629.61.
