HARNEY/GRANT COUNTY – Find the latest information regarding the Falls Fire here:. UPDATE 7/16 at 12:45 p.m. – (From Grant County Emergency Management) The closure of 395C between Seneca and Burns is being modified. ODOT will move the northern closure point, south, to Mile Post 44 on 395C. From there cars will be piloted to Hwy 20/395 junction. The change is planned to take place by 1pm. Please check TripCheck to ensure the changes have been made.
Firefighters Battle 55,000-Acre Falls Fire in Harney County Amid Red Flag Warning and Evacuation Orders
The Oregon State Fire Marshal's office has called in reinforcements to confront the rapidly expanding Falls Fire, now spreading across 55,000 acres in Harney County with no signs of containment. As flames rage 20 miles northeast of Riley, the Blue Incident Management Team, along with four task forces, have been mobilized to stave off the inferno, which was fanned by hot, dry, and windy conditions on Saturday. "This highlights the substantial fire danger we are seeing," Oregon State Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple stated about the swift escalation in fire activity. A release details the additional resources being deployed under the direction of the Emergency Conflagration Act, invoked by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek.
Falls Fire near Burns grows to 64,225 acres

On Tuesday at 5:10 p.m. an updated air quality alert was issued valid until Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Harney and Malheur counties. "High concentration of smoke particulates from wildfires in Oregon," describes the weather service. "Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on weather. Falls Fire Community Meeting
HARNEY COUNTY-The public is invited to a meeting this Sunday evening to hear a report on the Falls Fire that is located on the Malheur National Forest northwest of Burns and Hines. Incident Commander Kevin Stock and Complex Incident Management Team 8 staff, will be giving a fire operations briefing. Local, state, and federal officials will also be in attendance. There will be time for questions.
