Youth Nab Titles at Bob Hines Swine Classic
More than 100 Kansas youth from 32 counties exhibited 250 pigs in the 2024 Dr. Bob Hines Swine Classic this month in Manhattan. Youth had the opportunity to compete in a skillathon contest, photography contest and showmanship, in addition to prospect and market hog classes. Kansas internet providers to receive $22.7m in broadband grants

Exploration Place sets new attendance record
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Exploration Place reported a record-breaking 13% increase in visitors for the 2023-24 fiscal year, with 409,975 people visiting the Sedgwick County Science and Discovery Center. This surpassed the previous record of 363,047 visitors in 2022-23. The museum also saw a 17% rise in family memberships, totaling 10,753 households. Another milestone includes over 100,000 visitors to the Digital Dome Theater for the first time in its history. Additionally, the museum provided 26,309 free admissions through programs such as Museums for All, Title I school field trips, free library passes, and the Blue Star Families initiative.
