The Creamery: 37-story building to break ground along Glenwood South
A new 37-story building planned for Glenwood South will have more floors than any building in downtown Raleigh, even more than the PNC building, which is 32 stories tall. The new building, called The Creamery, will be located at the site of the old Pine State Creamery, a former dairy products factory at 414 Glenwood Ave. The plans preserve the creamery building and its history, but the high-rise will dramatically change the feel of the neighborhood.

Crews begin blasting underground rock in downtown Raleigh behind former Administration Building
If you're going to be in downtown Raleigh on Tuesday, you may hear some loud banging noises or explosions.Crews are beginning to blast underground rock behind the former State Administration Building on Jones Street across from the science museum.This will impact traffic, particularly on Jones, McDowell, Salisbury and Lane streets.Roads surrounding the construction site will be shut down 15 minutes before a blast and remain closed for up to five minutes following the blast to verify the area is clear.Blasts will happen twice a day Monday through Friday. The first blasts are expected to go off at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.Flaggers will be present to alert people to any sidewalks or building doors that are closed.

The Duke football program unveiled its renovated locker room in the Yoh Football Center on Monday. “The student-athlete experience here at Duke is one of the best nationally and these renovations only emphasize that,” Duke head coach Manny Diaz said. “The upgrades will give our current and future Blue Devils a player-friendly experience, while adding to their overall development while here at Duke. There are a lot of people to thank that made this project come to life, particularly Nina King and our Starting 11 group.
